30+ Wheelchair Friendly Trails in Utah

One of the most common questions we get is whether a trail is wheelchair friendly. We are so excited to share with you over 30 trails that are accessible to wheelchairs. We want everyone to have the chance to experience the outdoors, especially in our great state of Utah. We hope that this list of wheelchair friendly trails in Utah helps your family enjoy time together, too!

We will try to clarify if this path is completely paved, or just flat enough for a wheelchair to make, so that you can plan your hike accordingly. Sunset Point to Sunrise Point (Bryce Canyon)

This trail is paved the entire way, and offers the best views of Bryce Canyon.


Pa’Rus Trail (Zion National Park)

This trail is completely paved and has beautiful views of the canyon walls.


Balanced Rock (Arches)

This trail is partially paved, but the entire trail is flat and accessible for wheels.


Temple Quarry (Little Cottonwood)

This trail is completely paved and is a great trail to enjoy in the fall.


Payson Lakes (Nebo Loop)

This trail is paved the entire way, and walks around Payson Lakes.


Devil’s Kitchen (Nebo Loop)

This trail is completely paved and is simple and short.


Dripping Rock Trail

This trail is paved the entire way, and walks along the river to the dripping rock. You can not access the river with a wheelchair, but the dripping rock is visible from the trail.


American Fork Canyon Nature Trail

This trail is completely paved, but it does have some ups and downs.


cascade Springs (Alpine Loop)

This trail is paved or on boardwalk the entire way, and walks along some small springs.


Eccles Wildlife Center Nature Trail (Farmington)

This trail is partial boardwalk and partial dirt, but it is flat and easy for wheels. It is a great spot to see birds and wildlife.


Mcpolin farm (Park City)

This trail is paved and walks through the farm displays.


Bridal Veil Falls (Provo Canyon)

The trail is is simple and short to a beautiful waterfall. Paved the entire way.


Observation Point (Little Cottonwood Canyon)

This trail is paved. You will have to maneuver through the Snowbird Center, but there are elevators.


Mill B South Interpretive Trail (Big Cottonwood Canyon)

This trail is paved, but it is a bit of a climb. We pushed a stroller up, but it might be tough for some wheelchairs.


Block U (SLC)

This trail is paved along the sidewalk, but parking is limited.


Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve (LAYTON)

This trail is along a boardwalk through the wetlands.


Farmington Creek Trail (Farmington)

This trail is paved and very shady. You can go as far as you’d like and turn around.


Lagoon Trail (Farmington)

This trail walks begin Lagoon and is paved the entire day.


Nature Loop Trail at bear River Migratory Bird Refuge

This trail is paved for the entire loop through the wetlands area. The visitor center is also wheelchair friendly.


Poison Creek Trail (Park City)

This trail is a paved trail behind the Main Street of Park City with beautiful murals and tunnels.


Cedar Canyon Walking Trail (cedar city)

This trail is paved and you can walk as far as you’d like into the canyon. There is a gorgeous waterfall if you go to the end.


Scott M Matheson Preserve (Moab)

This nature preserve has a nice nature trail to look for birds and wildlife.


International Peace Gardens (SLC)

This trail is paved through the gardens with a few side trails that are unpaved, but flat.


Miller Bird Refuge (SLC)

This nature preserve has a nice nature trail to look for birds and wildlife. Most is paved, and it is flat and easy. There are a few stairs, but it is easy to skip that section.


Rendezvous Park (Logan)

This park has a nice loop through the park and near the river.


Mehbran Wetlands Park (Draper)

This nature preserve has a nice nature trail to look for birds and wildlife. The path is paved half of the time, but the other areas are easy to push wheels on.


Jordan River Parkway

This trail is paved and you can walk sections all throughout Utah and Salt Lake counties.


Silver Lake (Big Cottonwood Canyon)

This loop trail is on a boardwalk for about 3/4 of the hike. The other 1/4 is on packed dirt, and we have pushed a stroller, but there is some up and down.


Red Hills Desert Garden (St. George)

The Red Hills Desert Garden has a beautiful walk through their gardens. There are plants and a stream to enjoy.


Beus Pond (Ogden)

This park has a lovely paved nature loop around a pond. We love walking this trail, even in the winter.


Tony Grove (Logan Canyon)

This trail is not paved, but wheelchairs can enjoy a walk along the edge. The back section of the lake is too narrow for a wheelchair, but the other areas are perfect.


Provo River Parkway

This trail is paved and you can walk as far as you’d like in the canyon. We like to start at Vivian Park and walk down towards Bridal Veil Falls.

We love finding trails that everyone can enjoy. As we find more wheelchair friendly trails in Utah, we will add to this list.
