Vernon Worthen Park is located in downtown St. George and sits in the shadow of the temple. It is a beautiful spot, and a fun place for families to play and relax. There is something for everyone at Vernon Worthen Park.
The first thing we noticed when we pulled up to Vernon Worthen Park is how much grass this park has! Wow! It feels like the whole block is one big grassy play area. There are big trees scattered throughout the grassy area, too, which give lots of shade in the summer. Right in the middle is a gazebo with a few tables inside. There are also picnic tables around the edges of the grassy area. This park is perfect for a picnic and some family games.

The playground has been updated and has the cushioned flooring. There is a climbing area, as well as a zipline. Both of these are always popular with my boys. There are some fun swings, and a little playground to climb and slide on.
Vernon Worthen Park also has a lot of sports options. There were a bunch of pickle ball courts, and some sand volleyball courts, too. Restrooms were available as well.

Just down the street is the St. George Temple Visitor Center, which is a fun stop. And a few blocks away you will find the St. George Tabernacle, historic Judd’s store, and other downtown adventures. Vernon Worthen is the perfect park to take a break in St. George.
