Family Friendly Things to do in Park City

We recently spent a quick weekend in Park City and found as many family friendly things to do in that we could. We discovered that Park City is a great place to take the kids. There were even some free adventures in what we usually label the expensive part of Utah. We can’t wait to head back and find some more, too. Here is our first list of Family Friendly Things to do in Park City.

Sheraton Park City

We stayed at the Sheraton Park City and we found this hotel to be convenient, affordable, and filled with a few extras that made our stay extra nice. We especially appreciated the shuttle to Main Street so we could avoid parking downtown.

Olympic Park Museums

There are two museums at Olympic Park and they are both FREE. One is a commemorative museum about the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics filled with memorabilia including once of the torches. The other is a ski museum talking about the history of skiing in the area. We enjoyed both. There are other fun activities at Olympic Park, but they cost and weren’t running during the winter when we visited.

Escape Room Park City

This was our boys’ first experience in an escape room and they loved it. The mining room is just right for kids to do with their families. Everyone was able to help solve puzzles, and we felt so accomplished when we escaped. Escape Room Park City is extra special because the owners create all of the puzzles themselves!

Park City Museum

The Park City Museums sits right on Main Street and is a great stop to learn more about the history of the area. There are some fun, hands-on activities for the kids. We especially loved the jail and mining areas. This museum has a free day once a month, so check their calendar. Otherwise the cost is $12/adult, and $5/kid, 6 and under are free.

Willow Creek Park

Our kids love a good playground, and Willow Creek park was definitely a winner. Both the large and small playgrounds are farm themed, and one is designed just for toddlers. There is also a huge dog park for those of you who love taking your dogs to the park. We had a great afternoon.

Poison Creek Trail

The Poison Creek Trail has it all: parks, creeks, murals, music and sculptures. Best of all, this trail is stroller friendly. It runs parallel to Main Street in Park City and is easy and fun for any family.

Davanza’s

We ate some of the best pizza ever at Davanza’s in Park City. The service was quick and friendly, and the pizza slices were huge. Our kids also loved the fry sauce at this restaurant. The prices were affordable, too. This is a great family-friendly restaurant.

Java Cow

If you need a yummy treat while in Park City, make sure to get some ice cream at Java Cow. This little cafe also has breakfast and lunch items, as well as coffee. The ice cream is all natural and homemade right in house, and it is delicious!

McPolin Farm

When you drive in to Park City, you will most likely see the McPolin Farm and it’s large American Flag. It has become an iconic spot in Utah. This is a free adventure where you can walk around the farm and peek into the buildings. There is a short hike with nature signs behind the farm, too, that is great for families.
