Festival of Trees

One of the best ways to kick off the holiday season is with a visit to the Festival of Trees. Not only is it a fun event where you can admire the amazingly decorated Christmas trees, but it is also a fundraiser for Primary Children’s Hospital. This lets you enjoy the Christmas season while helping support an amazing cause. The Festival of Trees happens every year for about 5 days near the beginning of December. Some of these trees will blow you away!

There are so many amazing trees at Festival of Trees.

Christmas Trees

The Festival of Trees has hundreds of Christmas trees that people have lovingly decorated and donated to this cause. You can walk through the aisles of trees and find all sorts of different themes. There are Harry Potter trees, Coca Cola trees, Grinch trees, and all sorts of Disney movie themes. We love seeing what everyone creates each year.

Many of the trees are donated in honor of someone. There are QR codes and pictures so that you can learn more about each of these angels. It is heartbreaking to read some of the stories, but also hopeful because of the good that their families are doing in their memory. This is another reason we love supporting Festival of Trees.

There are a few different Grinch trees each year.
This Harry Potter tree had a so many extras sitting around!
We spotted the Get Out Pass tree.
The Utah Jazz Bear created this amazing tree out of signed NBA balls.

The festival has a lot more than Christmas trees, too. There are wreaths and gingerbread houses. We especially love the amazing gingerbread homes. There are quilts and nativities. In 2023, there was a new addition of play tents. Each tent had its own theme, too. We are amazed at the creativity that people have to make these amazing decorations. We are also grateful that they donate their time and creation for Primary Children’s Hospital.

You can purchase any of these items either in person at the festival or via the online auction. All proceeds go directly to the hospital to fill the greatest need at that time. If you are able, please buy or bid on an item and help our favorite hospital! More info here.

This gingerbread house was a whole Christmas Carol theme.
I love the In-N-Out Gingerbread house.

I cannot believe that people can make these amazing quilts.

Other Activities

There is a lot more to do at the Festival of Trees that is included with your ticket. There is a kid area, where kids can visit with Santa for free. This area also has activities for the kids.

One of the highlights are the treats they sell at Festival of Trees. There are amazing scones and sweet rolls. Also, don’t forget to try all the types of fudge that they sell.

Make sure to bring your kids to the Kids Korner and to see Santa.
We were there on a special opening, so no treats for us this time.
We can’t wait to go back and eat scones.

You can also shop in a few different gift shops for some great Christmas gifts. You may even be lucky enough to be at the festival when a Christmas show is going on. Choirs come and perform all throughout the day on the stage.

This was my favorite tree in 2023: The whole UP house theme!

Primary Children’s

We love that Festival of Trees is a part of Primary Children’s Hospital. Our youngest had heart surgery at this hospital when he was only six days old. This hospital is truly amazing as it helps kids with so many different medical needs. If you can’t attend Festival of Trees, you can still make a donation to Primary Children’s if you are looking for a place to donate. Here is a link to the Festival of Trees donation page. Every penny raised goes directly to the hospital and the patients!
