Thanksgiving Point hosts a Scarecrow Festival for one week during the month of October. This event is held in the Ashton Gardens, and you can see the scarecrows as part of your admission to the gardens. Therefore, it is free for Thanksgiving Point Members.
First of all, the Gardens are especially beautiful in the Fall. We loved wandering through the beautiful grounds and admiring the changing colors. Along the paths, you will see signs directing you along the route for the scarecrows. The scarecrows are made by businesses or families. Each one is so different and unique. We really enjoyed seeing the creative minds those who made the scarecrows. Our boys really want to make one next year (we’ll see).

Each scarecrow is numbered so that you can vote for your personal favorite. Make sure to pick up a voting sheet when you check in at the front desk. Each of our boys picked a different scarecrow to vote for in the People’s Choice award. The paper also had a map of where all of the scarecrows are so you could plan your route. You’ll pass scarecrow factoids on signs along the way that were interesting to read, too. They even have a few photo op spots where you can stop and take some great Fall family photos.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point, and we can’t wait to see what scarecrows show up next year, too. Advanced timed tickets are required, so make sure to claim your tickets online beforehand. For more information, you can visit Thanksgiving Point’s website.
