Hi-Mountain Drug in Kamas

We love the Mirror Lake Highway, and we’ve done many hikes and adventures along the route. One thing people always ask us, though, is where they should eat as they go adventuring. We’ve blogged about the Train Place in Heber, so we though we’d let you in on another little secret– Hi-Mountain Drug in Kamas.

Hi-Mountain Drug, which used to be an old pharmacy is located right in the center of town. It doesn’t look like a restaurant, and you may be tempted to try one of the fancier eateries along Main Street. But trust me, the burgers at Hi-Mountain are divine. The fries are fresh cut and perfect (try them with cheese, bacon, and blue cheese), and the shakes are amazing.

Randy got the blue cheese fries and LOVED them!
The hamburgers and fries are delicious.
Randy got the Bananas Foster and I got the Better Than Anything (it has Heath bars)–both were delicious!

This is an old-fashioned burger joint with good old-fashioned food. It’s also interesting to take a stroll around the cafe. It has an original bar with a really cool tile facade. There is also a 50s style candy counter and tons of knick-knacks and trinkets. Hi-Mountain Drug in Kamas is one of Utah’s awesome hole-in-the-wall diners that the locals won’t tell you about it. Make sure you give it a try next time your in Kamas. For other things to do along the Mirror Lake Highway, click here.

We didn’t eat at the bar, but it looks fun!
This candy counter looks like it belongs in a museum!
There are plenty of tables here and a few larger ones in the back.
