Things to do in Heber Valley

Heber Valley is just a short drive away from both Utah and Salt Lake Counties, and it is full of fun family activities. We spent a week exploring Heber City and Midway and were amazed at all the things to do in Heber Valley. Here are some of the great spots we adventured, and we can’t wait to try more. Share any favorites that we missed in the comments.

State Parks

Wasatch County is home to three Utah State Parks. We have enjoyed visiting all three. Deer Creek and Jordanelle are mainly water-based, and Wasatch Mountain has just about everything. More details on their individual posts.

Hikes

We hope to add more hikes to this list, but here are the family friendly hikes that we have tried in Wasatch County.

Provo River Trail
Provo River Trail in Midway is only 1.0 mile and totally flat.
Nobletts Hike
Nobletts Trail is up past Jordanelle. Flat, easy, and shady.
Cascade Springs
Cascade Springs is a beautiful boardwalk trail, and it has a waterfall.

Unique Fun in Heber Valley

Heber Valley Railroad
The Heber Valley Railroad is an old historic railroad and always has fun themed trains to ride.
Heber Valley Artisan Cheese
Take a tour of the diary farm, or just stop at eat cheese and ice cream in Heber Valley Artisan Cheese Shop.
Homestead Crater
Swim or scuba inside the Homestead Crater.
Wasatch Aquatic Center
Super unique pool with floating obstacle courses, a splash pad, and tons of other fun for kids.
Memorial Hill
Memorial Hill is a beautiful spot to remember those who have served our country.
Heber City Main Street Park
Heber City Main Street Park has a fun playground.

Restaurants

Dairy Keen is our favorite family restaurant in Heber beause the train theme is so fun for kids. Plus, they have great food and shakes!

Seasonal Things

There are some fun activities that only pop up during certain seasons in the Heber Valley. So check out these adventures at the correct time of year.

Sleepy Hollow Haunted Wagon Ride
During the month of October, look for the Headless Horseman on this haunted wagon ride.
Midway Ice Castles
The Midway Ice Castles are open January and February for as long as it is cold enough to keep the ice from melting.
Concerts at Main Street Park
Every Thursday in the summer there is a concert in the park, as well as food and craft booths to visit.
Swiss Days Festival Midway

Swiss Days is Midway’s city festival and it happens over Labor Day weekend. There are always lots of fun events and activities throughout the weekend.
