Most of the restaurants we write about are classic burger and shakes places. But our favorite restaurant in Emery county is a little more upscale. The Tamarisk Restaurant is located in Green River, and it has been around since 1979. The food is amazing, and very affordably priced considering the portion size. Adults eat for $10-$20 and most kids meals are $5.
The Tamarisk is located right next to the Green River, so if you have a small party you can request a window seat with a view. We were sitting across the room, but we still enjoyed watching the river through the window.

The Tamarisk is a nice sit down restaurant, which makes it fairly unique on our list. The main reason we love it so much is the nachos. A heaping plate of real corn chips piled high with cheese, onions, sour cream, guacamole, black beans, salsa, olives, and jalapenos is a great way to start any meal! You can even add meat for a few dollars extra. We ordered this as an appetizer, but I am considering this for my meal next time we visit.

Tamarisk also has burgers, sandwiches, steaks, and lots of Mexican food. We especially like the chimichangas. Last time we were there, Dad even ordered ribs, which he declared thoroughly delicious. Perhaps most amazing, our boys each ate their entire meal. That may be a new record! There is also a nice salad bar, and a great dessert menu. The Tamarisk also serves breakfast, and we wish we would have had the chance to try it out. Next time!!

We really enjoyed our stop at Tamarisk Restaurant in Green River, and we think that you will, too.
