We are always on the hunt for great playgrounds in Utah. J. Lynn Crane Park in Herriman definitely fits that description. This park has a really fun play area, as well as a splash pad and a fun ice rink in the winter!
We stopped by Crane Park in Herriman in early Spring. Our boys were so excited when they saw the zipline. This has become one of their favorite features at parks. After a few zips, we headed to the playground.

The playground has a lot of climbing areas. This was perfect for our older boys. They even made a challenge of going from one side of the playground to the other without touching the ground. This kept them busy for a long time! There are slides, monkey bars, and bridges on the main structure of the playground.

Crane Park also has a smaller toddler playground with a tiny little clubhouse to play in. There is also a big swing that a few people can ride together. And our boys always enjoy the big spinning sphere. I don’t know it’s official name, but they can sit inside and spin until they are sick.
There were also a few fake rocks to climb. And we love the comfy playground flooring that is replacing bark at most of these new parks. There is no shade, so bring sunscreen, water, and possibly your own shade.

Crane Park in Herriman also has a large pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms, and a good amount of grass for sports and frisbees. The splash pad wasn’t on when we visited in March, so we will have to go back and check it out. In the winter, the splash pad area is turned into an ice rink, called the Ice Ribbon. We also need to go back and give this a try.
When you visit Crane Park, make sure to drive past the Up House. And if you are looking for even more awesome parks in the Salt Lake area, check out our list of Best Parks in Salt Lake County.
