The Bumble Bee Bash is an annual event that the Discovery Gateway (Children’s Museum) holds every year as a fundraiser. All proceeds from the event are for funding the museum and the different programs that it runs.
This was the Bumble Bee Bash’s 5th year and they had lots of fun activities throughout the day. Some activities like face painting, bounce houses, science experiments, and live music went on through the entire event. Other events such as performances from belly dancers, children’s theater, a scientist from the University of Utah, and visits from Bob the Builder were only at certain times so you had to be there at the right times to catch them. We tried to visit the events going on while we were there, but we didn’t quite make it to all of them.
The best part of the Bumble Bee Bash was that you also got to play in the museum. With your ticket, you had admittance to the museum as well as all the extra activities going on. Our kids loved that! We played in one section and participated in all the Bumble Bee Bash events in that area, then we moved on to the next area. The tickets cost $10 ($5 if you are a current member) which is almost the same amount for admittance fee on a regular day to the museum ($8.50).
We had a lot of fun at the Bumble Bee Bash. It was a fun event with lots of activities for the children to enjoy, as well as the adults. Our boys enjoyed the bounce houses most, while we appreciated the live band from Wasatch Music Coaching Academy more. We always love going to the Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum.
We were provided complimentary tickets to attend and review the Bumble Bee Bash at the Discovery Gateway. We were not compensated financially for our review and we were not required nor persuaded to write any specific type of review. All views and opinions are our own.
